PUBG Mobile teases latest collabs, including Philippines-inspired content
MANILA, Philippines — Following the success of multiple collaborations in 2021, Tencent’s PUBG Mobile is dropping hints on what to expect in the first half of 2022.
Nearing launch is the collaboration first teased in August, with hit anime series Jujutsu Kaisen is set to make its crossover to PUBG this year.
Itadori Yuji, Fushiguro Megumi and Kugisaki Nobara are set to have character suits and voice lines in-game.
Fan-favorite character Satoru Goju is also set to feature in the upcoming updates, given the character's Domain Expansion ability working well with PUBG Mobile’s shrinking Playzone mechanic.
K-pop collabs is also set to return for PUBG Mobile after previously collaborating with Blackpink in 2020.
Though no specific group has been confirmed, PUBG Mobile has teased the possibility of the in-game map being littered with K-pop-inspired items.
A collaboration specifically for Filipino fans is also in the works.
PUBG Mobile is set to get more Filipino-themed in-game wearables, inspired by the traditional Barong Tagalog or Filipiniana Dress.
Filipino game audio will also be part with introductions of Filipino characters Darna, Gagamboy and the mythical Ibong Adarna.
Additional information on each collaboration will be released closer to the roll-out of the game's update.
Last year, PUBG Mobile feature successful collaborations with football team Liverpool and Riot’s League of Legends Arcane.
The game also collobrated with Marvel's Spider-man: No Way Home at the beginning of the 2022.
