MANILA, Philippines — Barangay Ginebra will go on with its title defense in the 46th PBA Governors’ Cup without ace guard Stanley Pringle.

According to coach Tim Cone, Pringle went under the knife to fix a knee injury and will take about three months of recovery time.

“Stanley had surgery performed last week on the meniscus of his left knee and will be out three months – six weeks of non-weight bearing therapy and six weeks of weight bearing therapy,” Cone posted on Twitter. “That will put him out of the Governors’ Cup.”

Pringle has been dealing with knee issues since the 2020 Philippine Cup bubble but aggravated the injury during practice early in the import-flavored conference.

The Clark bubble Best Player of the Conference managed to suit up only once in the Governors’ Cup. He scored seven points and helped Ginebra to a hard-earned 80-77 win over Alaska in its opening match last Dec. 12.

Ginebra is also dealing with injuries to Joe Devance (knee), Jared Dillinger (patellar tendon), Mark Caguioa (calf) and Aljon Mariano (foot).
