MANILA, Philippines — Host Nakhon Ratchasima QminC overpowered a listless Rebisco, 25-11, 25-19, 25-18, yesterday to reach the semifinals while closing the door on the latter in the 2021 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship in Thailand.
The Nationals, mentored by Brazilian Jorge Souza de Brito, proved no match against the four-time Thai league champions, headed by Kuttika Kaewpin and Nootsara Tomkom, to remain winless after four outings.
Paced by the Kaewpin-Tomkom pair, the Thais were just too good and too experienced, unloading a whopping 46 attacks compared to the Filipinas’ measly 22.
It did not help that Rebisco gave up 22 points off errors.
Choco Mucho was also shown the door following a 13-25, 22-25, 21-25 setback to Supreme Chonburi of Thailand.
Choco Mucho and Rebisco face each other at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in relegation play.
