BACARRA, Ilocos Norte, Philippines – Jaja Santiago imposed her might as Chery Tiggo routed Petro Gazz, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22, yesterday to reclaim third spot in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference at the PCV Socio-Civic & Cultural Center here.
Santiago, polished by her experience playing as an import in Japan, was a dominant force as she unloaded a match-high 20 points – 16 on kills, three on blocks and an ace – to power the Crossovers to a 5-2 card.
Choco Mucho leads the way with a pristine 5-0 slate while Creamline is at second with a 5-1 mark.
The win also came on the heels of Chery Tiggo’s 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20 triumph over tournament favorite Creamline Friday.
And Santiago was also at the center of it all after another 20-point performance.
“We have some challenges along the way but we were able to still work on it. I’m just glad and happy for the ladies that they were able to lead the team and deliver,” said Chery Tiggo coach Aaron Velez.
