MANILA, Philippines — Thirdy Ravena, who has tested positive for COVID-19  in Japan, is slowly but surely recovering.

“I just talked to him earlier. Thankfully, he has no fever (anymore),” said Thirdy’s mother, Mozzy.

TNT head coach Bong Ravena, the father, heard the sad news just as his team advanced to the finals of the PBA Philippine Cup last Sunday.

“Mahirap kung sa mahirap. His condition is normal naman. Worried lang kami kasi mag-isa lang sya doon,” he said.

Thirdy, playing as an import for San-En NeoPhoenix in the B. League, felt feverish and had sore throat last Thursday when he was tested and sent to a nearby health center.

“On the morning of November 26th, he reported that he was in poor physical condition, and when the temperature was measured, a fever of 38.2 degrees Centigrade was confirmed,” the team said in a statement. – John Bryan Ulanday
