James craves mom’s adobo
Inside the bubble
SMART CLARK GIGA CITY, Pampanga, Philippines — James Yap is dying to see his family in Italy, bond with his parents, ride his big bike around Manila and enjoy his mother’s cooking.
“Marami akong na-miss na pagkain lalo na yung adobo ng mom ko, sinigang at saka laswa (Ilonggo delicacy),” the pride of Escalante, Negros Occidental, who’s been inside the PBA bubble for 45 days, told The STAR.
Despite the early bubble exit, Yap and the Elasto Painters are bringing home unforgettable memories from this unique experience.
“Once in a lifetime experience ito na talagang dala-dala na naming mga players habangbuhay,” added the 16-year veteran.
Yap plans to join his wife and kids in Italy in time for Christmas.

Barangay Ginebra dedicated their semifinals entry to the “kababayans” affected by typhoons “Rolly” and “Ulysses,” and can’t wait to extend help in every possible way even while inside the bubble.
“Hopefully, we can do that through our families. Our hearts go to our fans who are going through tough times,” said coach Tim Cone.
“I know that our organization will help. Mr. (Ramon) Ang has a history of that. I’m proud of being part of this organization and the things they do. But as a team and as individuals we also need to step up,” said coach Tim Cone, whose residence in Alabang was also not spared from massive flooding.

There’s no stopping “Iron Man” LA Tenorio from decorating the PBA record books after he recorded his 3,000th assist in Ginebra’s 81-73 quarterfinal win over Rain or Shine last Sunday.
Tenorio became only the 11th player in history and second active cager behind Alex Cabagnot of San Miguel Beer to make the list led by Robert Jaworski.
It’s never say die for the 36-year-old Ginebra veteran, who also extended his record of playing 653 straight games since entering the PBA in 2006.
