MANILA, Philippines — In-form United City FC seeks to roar to its fourth straight win and close in on the Philippines Football League diadem tonight when it faces dangerous Stallion-Laguna in the main game at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

The Stephan Schrock-skippered squad has been an overwhelming force in the bubble tournament, winning its first three games via shutouts, the last one a 10-0 annihilation of Maharlika Manila Tuesday, for pole position with nine points.

Powerhouse United City can solidify its hold of top spot by taking maximum points against Stallion-Laguna (one point) in the penultimate match day of the short single round-robin competition, where the team with the most points wins the crown.

Although Laguna only has one draw to show – a 1-1 stalemate with second-running Kaya Iloilo last Tuesday, it is expected to give the club formerly known as Ceres Negros a run for its money just like in the previous seasons.

Meanwhile, No. 2 Kaya (seven points on two wins and one draw), tries to stay within striking distance of United as it battles winless Mendiola FC (two losses) in the 9 a.m. opener.

The Iloilo booters eye a confidence-building win before they face off with United in a virtual championship on Nov. 9.

The Azkals Development Team takes the field at 4:30 p.m. against fellow three-pointer Maharlika, looking for a followup to their 2-0 dispatching of Mendiola last time.
