CLARK, Pampanga, Philippines — Seasoned big man Poy Erram is ready to spread his wings even wider in his debut for the rejigged TNT Tropang Giga in the PBA Philippine Cup restart at the Angeles University Foundation (AUF) Gym here.
Erram, whom the Tropang Giga acquired through a blockbuster three-team trade with NLEX and Blackwater earlier this year, said that he’s up to the new challenge starting against Alaska today.
“Different teams, different roles but it’s the same mentality and goal for me,” said the Gilas Pilipinas slotman and former PBA Defensive Player of the Year.
Sans a legitimate middle presence since their 2015 Commissioner’s Cup championship, TNT has been in search for its last championship piece, which, hopefully, it finally got in Erram.
But the 6-foot-8 giant is quick to play it down.
“I’m not a savior. I’m not the missing piece for a TNT championship. They have been a top contender ever since so I will just do my best to help TNT achieve that goal. It takes a whole team to win the championship,” he added.
For now, Erram said the immediate goal for the Tropang Giga is to be a top-four squad, and they will just go from there as the PBA returns to action.
