MANILA, Philippines — Reigning Southeast Asian Games champion Mark Striegl performs on the bigger stage with a scheduled UFC debut against Timur Valiev of Russia in Las Vegas on Aug. 23.
The 32-year-old Fil-German signed up with the world’s biggest mixed martial arts production the other day.
“It’s a dream come true. The journey to Las Vegas is finally on the horizon,” said Striegl, who became the latest Filipino fighter to bring his act to the UFC.
Last December, Striegl won the gold medal in the 74 kg combat sambo event of the SEA Games, and vowed to raise the bar as far as his MMA career is concerned.
