Kai geared up for G League stint

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino teen giant Kai Sotto received yesterday his official NBA G League gear, signalling his year-long countdown and preparations for his anticipated debut early next year.
The 7-foot-2 prodigy showed a sneak peek of the exclusive gears on social media that included the official cap being used in the traditional draft, bag, shirts, and a high-tech interactive box featuring his highlights.
“Change the game and stay humble. Blessed to be a part of such great organization,” said the 18-year-old phenom.
The official gear was accompanied by a personalized video from G League president Shareef Abdur-Rahim, who can’t wait to meet and welcome the “best young player from Asia after the pandemic.”
Under coach Brian Shaw, Sotto will be joined by other blue-chip prospects Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Daishen Nix and Isaiah Todd.
