Varsity ballers throw support
MANILA, Philippines — More collegiate athletes have joined the fund-raising drive initiated by volley belles for the benefit of the frontliners amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rhenz Abando, CJ Cansino and Brent Paraiso of UST have made their jerseys available for auctions in partnership with charity organization My Twenty Ako, which started its massive campaign this week.
NCAA champion Letran also did its part led by PBA-bound cagers Jerrick Balanza and Bonbon Batiller with Larry Muyang and Finals MVP Fran Yu.
“Let us all continue to help each other. Together, we can overcome this pandemic,” said the Knights in its official announcement.
Brothers and Gilas Pilipinas pool members Juan and Javi Gomez de Liaño and NCAA MVP Calvin Oftana from San Beda, likewise, threw their support.
Fresh graduates AC Soberano (San Beda), Renzo Subido (UST), Wendell Comboy (FEU) and Andre Caracut (La Salle) were not left behind in showing their solidary with former collegiate brothers.
Ex-Red Lions Robert Bolick and Javee Mocon have made their presence felt. Ditto with Alaska forward Vic Manuel who is giving away a pair of his old GlobalPort (NorthPort now) jersey and Alaska shorts in the noble campaign.
