MANILA, Philippines — Southwestern University PHINMA and University of Visayas arranged a winner-take-all match for the right to face Ateneo in the Final Four of the 2019 PCCL National Collegiate Championship after winning their first two matches in the Visayas-Mindanao qualifiers at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete City.
The UV Green Lancers routed Holy Trinity College of General Santos, 97-79, last Monday and cruised past Asian College of Dumaguete, 89-69.
The SWU Cobras, on the other hand, coasted to easy victories over Asian College (74-47) and Holy Trinity (80-63).
The knockout match is a repeat of the Cebu Schools Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) finals won by the Cobras last November.
Ateneo, San Beda and University of the Philippines had earlier reached the Final Four after topping their respective brackets in the event sponsored by Eco Oil and Molten.
