World Gamefowl Expo all set

MANILA, Philippines — The annual World Gamefowl Expo, now on its 10th year, sizzles tomorrow until Sunday at the World Trade Center in Pasay City with top personalities like Charlie “Atong” Ang of Pitmasters group and Ako Bisaya Party List Rep. Sonny Lagon in attendance.

A joint undertaking of Pitgames Media Inc. CEO Manny Berbano and World Expos and Concepts general manager Racquel Romero, the WGE has evolved as the most important gathering of important activities in cockfighting and racing pigeons.

“From being a simple pastime of Filipinos, cockfighting is now a national passion of the nation,” said Romero.

The one-of-a-kind event gathers gamefowl breeders, cockfight aficionados, feeds companies, manufacturers of medicines, gaffing accessories and equipment.

Rep. Lagon will explain further his House Bill that will protect, regulate and give recognition to cockfighting as a sport.

Ang will present the various guidelines on stag derbies, wingbanding, cockpit promotions to be undertaken by the Pitmasters group.

Games and Amusement Board (GAB) chair man Baham Mitra, who aims to professionalize cockfighting, is guest of honor.

Other important personalities in the event: include Doc Ayong Lorenzo of Excellence Gamefowl and Livestock Dpecialists, 2019 World Slasher Cup 1 champion Chris Copas, Domvy Haley of Kentucky and Erik Rosales of United States Gamefowl Breeders Association.
