100 fights today in NCA derby

MANILA, Philippines — The National Cockers Alliance has announced that there will be more than 100 exciting battles on  tap today at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City.

Derby hosts Gov. Ito Ynares of NCA, Patrick Antonio of Pasay Cockpit and Bong Pineda of San Juan Cockpit have agreed to join efforts to promote honesty, fair-play and sportsmanship in the event.

They have agreed to join forces to clean the sports of cockfighting and upgrade the cockfighting to its proper pedestal. The list of invited guests include Palito, Ramon Mancenares, Riper, Atong Ang, Fiscal Villanueva, Anthony Lim, Max Roxas, Nene Araneta, Mayor Ilyong Hernandez, Rolly Bautista, Mayor Viceo, Bong Pineda, Tarantula and Nad Mendoza.

The next NCA event will be the anticipated World Championship Derby to be participated by the famous American cocker breeder Roger Robert, Chris Prater and Chris Topaz.

Scheduled on Jan. 14 is the elimination derby, four cocks while on the second day is the final derby of five cocks. The participants will also be fighting for the trophy of Senate president Tito Sotto.
