SEAG athletes rule DSCPI National
MANILA, Philippines — Southeast Asian Games athletes Sean Mischa Aranar and Ana Leonila Nualla dominated the 23rd Dance Sports Council of the Philippines Inc. (DSCPI) National Championships and Breaking competition recently at the Ballroom Hall of Valle Verde Country Club in Pasig City.
Aranar and Nualla bested first runner-up Tristan John Ducay and Aileen Patrice De Lara and second placer Mark Jayson Gayon and Mary Joy Renigen to bag the Grade A Standard title of the tourney organized by DSCPI President Becky Garcia.
Michael Angelo Marquez and third placer Stephanie Sabalo, who also qualified for this year’s SEA Games, outclassed first runner-up Wilbert Aunzo and Pearl Marie Cañeda and second runner-up Elmar Dizon and Rachael Sun to take home the Grade A Latin title.
The competition was supported by the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., Flawless, Dance Results Philippines, Like-FM 105.9, Studio AK, Muebles Italiano and The Greenery Bulacan.
Other winners in the competition were Randolf Jay Bagalawis (breakdancing boys class), Darielle Jade Napadao (breakdancing girls), Alfredo Suarez and Marilou Nuñez (Grade B Standard), Ferdinand San Felix and Diamond Sultan (Grade B Latin), Edgar Joseph Ramones and Ellie Shaira Ramones (Grade C Standard), Ben James Ramos and Jhanniz Sergia Panganiban (Grade C Latin), Roger Bauya and Israela Jerosa Aliermo (Grade D Standard) and Jerwin Rey Alcoseba and Jade Mae Desono (Grade D Latin).
The Dance Sports competition in the 30th SEA Games to be hosted by the country will be held Dec. 1 at the Royce Hotel in Clark, Pampanga before the 2020 DSCPI 1st Quarter Ranking set on March 14, 2020.
