MANILA, Philippines — University of Batangas exploited Centro Escolar University’s tight six-man rotation and prevailed, 112-86, in the PG Flex Linoleum-Universities and Colleges Basketball League last Thursday at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque City.
Behind JJ Caspe and Don Tabol, the Brahmans pummeled the Scorpions, 44-19, in the third quarter on their way to a fourth straight win.
The victory enabled the Brahmans to grab solo lead. Idle defending champion Diliman College slipped to second at 3-0 while CEU dropped into a share of third to fourth places with Lyceum of the Philippines-Batangas at 2-1.
The Pirates, meanwhile, relied heavily on the hot hands of Aliane Lapasaran to demolish the Technological Institute of the Philippines Engineers, 79-69.
