IN PHOTOS: UAAP fires off Season 82
MANILA, Philippines — UAAP Season 82 officially kicked off with an opening ceremony at the Mall of Asia Arena recognizing student-athletes from member schools on Sunday.
Featuring performances by groups from host school Ateneo de Manila University and OPM bands, the collegiate league welcomed its latest season.
Inspired by the Jesuit value of Magis, the theme "All For More" encourages student-athletes to go beyond and move forward.
Wanting to put the focus on more than just the men's basketball tournament, student-athletes across all sports were present and participated in a parade.
Athletes from member universities who are also set to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games were also given special recognition during the Oath of Sportsmanship.
Games for the men's and women's basketball and the boys' and girls' volleyball tournaments begin on Wednesday, September 4.
