MANILA, Philippines — After a “mysterious” leave of absence, Frankie Lim is back as head coach of Perpetual Help in the 95th NCAA basketball tournament.
Lim returned yesterday morning to supervise the team’s practice at the UPHSD Gym in Las Pinas just days after he was told to go on an indefinite leave.
“Back in practice. Preparing for our next game,” said Lim in a text message to members of the sports media.
While Lim did not comment on what really transpired, there were talks that the reason behind the incident was UPHSD’s embarrassing 56-102 to defending champion San Beda Friday.
The next day, Lim was asked to go on leave. In Lim’s absence, the Altas edged the Emilio Aguinaldo Generals, 88-87.
