BanKo thwarts Petro Gazz in PVL opener

MANILA, Philippines — The BanKo Perlas Spikers took care of business against Petro Gazz in four sets, 25-20, 11-25, 25-21, 25-18, in their Premier Volleyball League Open Conference season opener on Sunday.

Despite a dismal performance in the second set, the Perlas Spikers were able to recover and close out in four.

Returning Open Spiker Ella de Jesus was key to the victory. De Jesus played in the libero position last conference.

Dzi Gervacio and Nicole Tiamzon also contributed to the win.

Jovy Prado led Petro Gazz in the losing effort.
