MANILA, Philippines — Every year, fitness enthusiasts, regardless of fitness level, excitedly await for new challenges in Test of Will, Under Armour’s most advanced urban fitness challenge that provides a platform for athletes and everyday fitness aficionados to push the limits of their strength, endurance, and power.

The much-anticipated challenge took place at SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Music Hall last July—almost coinciding with the same events in Singapore and Thailand—and introduced the elite category, featuring added difficulties to further push one’s limits.

Mel Chan and Lexi Noval championed the Elite category, bringing home P125,000 each, while Lorenzo Leonardo and Vanessa Capuyon each bagged P87,000 after winning the Philippine standoff’s Open Category.

“It’s amazing! I’m grateful to Under Armour because this [Test of Will] is the kind of initiation and advocacy that I really admire from brands—when they try to bring out and show people that they can test their limits and go beyond what they think they can do,” said Noval.

“Every year is different. Just maintain a healthy lifestyle, workout daily, and you can achieve anything," Leonardo added.

For this year, the competition focused on battle ropes and consisted of four challenges each lasting one minute: double rope slams, rope Russian twist, reverse lunges and rope pulls. The participants were scored based on the number of repetitions they achieved.

Partner gym brand Fitness First ran a series of free training events for all registered participants in its MOA, Greenhills, and North Edsa branches.

Underscoring Test of Will’s mission is the brand’s recently launched performance apparel line, Rush & Recovery. The product was developed in partnership with Celliant, a scientifically engineered fabric that promotes endurance, strength and energy return, enabling improved sporting performance.

“Under Armour’s mission is to make athletes better. We launched the Rush & Recovery collection with this goal in mind, and Test of Will is just another way for us to empower athletes by giving them a platform to put their fitness to the test and push their limits even further,” said Michael Binger, chief executive officer of Triple Pte Ltd, the exclusive distributor of Under Armour in Southeast Asia.

The brand has also introduced its latest shoe innovation, UA HOVR Apex, which combines both UA HOVR ™ and UA TriBase technologies, guaranteeing maximum energy return for wearers, and added comfort, stability and flexibility.
