10 breeders vie in LBC Derby grand finals
MANILA, Philippines — Ten gamefowl breeders belonging to set A group barged into the grand finals of the Luzon Breeders Cup (LBC) 9-Stag Derby, scoring five wins each Friday at Pasay City Cockpit.
Rhona Bullecer of Team Sagupaan, Sonny Bello/Rommel Manalo, Mapher Alvarez, John and Kenneth Liao, Pet Policarpio, Ramir Navas, Jon Lasco, James Uy, Neil Natanauan and Nestor Vendivil made the grand finals, competing in a four-stag finale on Aug. 30.
The qualifiers got a share of P500,000 in the event supported by Sagupaan Superfeeds and Complexor 3000.
Set B participants join the race for the prestigious LBC tilt on Aug. 2, 9, 12 and 16. Participants may field “early bird” stags banded by LBC, Bakbakan, Digmaan, A-Cup, BNTV, Panay EBC and PSCBC. Entries must be submitted on Thursday.
“We have 60 confirmed entries as of today for the Aug. 2 elims, “ said Nick Crisostomo, president of Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association (LGBA).
