MANILA, Philippines — San Miguel completed an elimination round sweep while Alaska kept Purefoods winless in the UNTV Cup PBA Legends Face-off over the weekend at the Pasig Sports Center.
The Beermen routed Ginebra, 135-107, while the Milkmen drubbed the Hotdogs, 92-70, to head into the playoffs of this four-team tourney as the first and second seeds, respectively.
Allan Caidic, dubbed as the “Triggerman,” lived up to his lofty billing anew after a 32-point eruption built on nine triples to lead the Beermen to their third straight win in as many games.
With dominating wins against Purefoods, 88-68, and Alaska, 76-61, earlier this month, SMB now heads to the post-season as the undisputed No. 1 team with an astounding average winning margin of 21.0 points per game.
For the first time this month-long tournament organized by UNTV and PBA Legends Foundation, Danny Seigle suited up for the Beermen, scoring 14 points to backstop Caidic in yet another masterful victory.
Gunners Kiko Adriano and Chris Calaguio were also instrumental with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
