QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Olympic silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz expressed her dismay following her inclusion in the "Oust Duterte" matrix.
In a video message uploaded on the CNN Philippines Facebook page, Diaz was adamant to dispute the matrix's claim.
"Anong matrix? Ano yun? Wala akong alam kung ano man yan," the weightlifter said.
The 28-year-old said that with her focus on the upcoming international competitions ahead, she didn't even have time to concern herself with this.
"Ang dami ko pang kailangan laruin, ang dami ko pang kailangan ayusin. Sobrang focused ako sa goal ko sa Tokyo 2020," Diaz said.
The national athlete didn't hold back in expressing her disappointment at the inclusion.
"Sana po wag po kayong ganon na idadawit niyo yung pangalan ng isang tao na sobrang busy at sobrang sinasakripisyo ang lahat para sa Pilipinas," she said.
Diaz also took to her personal Facebook page to address the matrix.
"Hindi paninira, hindi pagbibintang, hindi gawa-gawang kuwento, hindi kasinungalingan ang kailangan ko po mula sa ating kababayan," Diaz wrote in her statement.
Diaz is set to represent the Philippines in the 2019 SEA Games as well as the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
She is a favorite to bring home the Philippines' first Olympic gold medal.
