Paul Lee wants to avoid repeat of Magnolia’s past Philippine Cup fate vs SMB
QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Last year, the Magnolia Hotshots lost the PBA Philippine Cup title to San Miguel in five games.
Magnolia was victorious in Game One but proceeded to lose four straight to give up the championship.
After their 101-108 Game Two loss to the Beermen Friday night, it looked dangerously similar.
And Paul Lee knows the Hotshots need to do more to avoid repeating history.
"We need to put more effort and aggressiveness, [play] smart basketball," Lee said after the game.
"Di naman natin masasabi na di mauulit. Pwedeng mauit, pwedeng di maulit," he said.
Regardless, Lee will make sure Magnolia gives the Beermen a run for their money every game.
"Pinagusapan namin bibigyan lang namin [sila] ng magandang laban every game," the Hotshots guard said.
"Bibigay lang namin yung best effort namin and we live with the result," he added.
Lee and Magnolia hopes to bounce back against the five-peat seeking Beermen on Sunday when they clash in Game Three.
