MANILA, Philippines — Petron Blaze seeks to sweep a first-round sweep as it takes on Cignal today in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the Muntinlupa Sports Center.
The Blaze Spikers remained unbeaten in six outings after turning back the F2 Cargo Movers, 23-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-18, Thursday night.
Now the defending champion will go for a seventh win and a sweep of the first of the double-round elims as they battle the HD Spikers at 4 p.m.
Kath Bell is expected to carry Petron anew after exploding for a conference-best 31 points while Stephanie Niemer should be the other player to watch after dropping 22 hits last time.
Petron’s streak of not conceding a single set ended at 15 after losing its opening set to F2.
But Petron was quick to adjust and turned things around in its favor to remain unscathed.
