2019 NBA All-Star uniforms go vintage with 90s makeover
MANILA, Philippines -- The 2019 NBA All-Star weekend is almost here, and what better way to anticipate the festivities than to sport the official 2019 NBA All-Star edition uniforms.
The jerseys sport a number of tributes to host city Charlotte, including an early-90s feel to the uniforms; with the Jordan Brand design team taking cue from the last time the games were held in North Carolina back in 1991.
Contrasting the black and white designs, the uniform features an outline with a red, white and blue color combination. It also dons the NBA star logo with a honeycomb pattern on the sides, giving a nod to the Charlotte basketball community.
Much like last year's uniforms, team logos, players names and numbers will all appear in black or white. A military-inspired stencil font will be used for the text, tapping into the host city's flight heritage.
“With the game being in Charlotte, we were presented with a great opportunity to look at the rich history of the city and its many connections to our brand,” said Jordan Brand Vice President of Design David Creech.
“It was important for us to add details that honor the Charlotte community and the great fans there,” he added.
Filipino fans can get their hands on these jerseys this month at selected Nike and Titan stores nationwide.
