World Slasher Cup finals start at Big Dome
MANILA, Philippines — The international cockfighting revs up today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum via the 2019 World Slasher Cup 9-Cock Invitational Derby which continues to attract thousands of sabong fans.
Today and tomorrow’s 4 -cock finals will feature participants with 2, 2.5, 3 and 3.5 points.Those with 4, 4.5 and 5 points compete on Feb. 6 in the much-awaited grand finals.
Among the entries today: Bulldog Feb. 8 Pasay, EVGF Oliver, Utol C3, Winstar, Florenda 4 -Cock Mar. 7, Triple J Farm, Gas Farm Cabanatuan, Oliver Dhee 2, Viva Kapata Double A BMY, Arayat, SMC Circuit 2019, Hustler, Baruko, M3 A6NB, Ripper 59 Sinag, Little Prince Risk Taker, Roan Blades of Glory, T1, Yellow Rose and Macking Rolly.
Spearheaded by Pintakasi of Champions, the WSC 1 got a valuable support from TV host Manny Berbano (Tukaan on TV5, Sundays, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.).
Other sponsors: Thunderbird, Emperador, Powertrac, Pitgames Media Inc. and Sabong Pilipinas. A 32” LED TV awaits aficonados in the raffle draw courtesy of Powertrac.
Finalists from Friday’s semifinals are Team Alcala (5 points), Doc Belle Almojera of Florida, USA (4.5), Nene Araneta, defending champion Patrick Antonio, Marvin Rillo, 2018 WSC 2 champ Rey Briones , Eman Fiscalizer, Team Alcala, Jimmy Junsay, CPB Hawaii 2, Itoy Sison and Ronnel Pasia of Team Sagupaan.
The 2019 WSC, which prohibits hennies, will have its second offering May 27-June 2.
