MANILA, Philippines – Melissa Gohing doesn't like losing, so she works hard to make sure she always comes out a winner.

The libero has five pro-league championships under her belt and was a four-time UAAP champion with the DSLU Lady Spikers in college.

She doesn't fall short in individual awards either – bagging prestigious titles throughout her career including rookie of the year honors in the UAAP and three best libero plums in the pros.

But the former Lady Spiker wants more, never settling for her past success.

"It's the passion that drives me to push harder and harder everyday," she said in an interview with Philstar.com.

The 27-year-old gives credit for her perseverance in getting better to her competitive nature, as well as the mentors she encountered on her way to the top.

"I was coached by Coach Ramil [de Jesus], Coach Jerry Yee, puro mga championship calibre coaches yung mga yan... Nasanay ako since I started volleyball na ayoko matalo," Gohing said.

Now, still with a championship team in the Creamline Cool Smashers, it wouldn't be surprising for Gohing to continue adding to her already decorated career.

But it's not all about winning another title. For her, continuous growing and development will always be the goal.

"There's always something to learn," she said.
