Ronald Bancod rules Metropolitan Chess Club tournament

MANILA, Philippines — Top seed International Master (IM) Ronald Bancod ruled the Metropolitan Chess Club (MCC) Standard Chess Tournament over the weekend at the Starmall Edsa Shaw in Mandaluyong.  

Bancod, with highest NCFP rating of  2257, finished with six wins and one draw against fellow IM Barlo Nadera to post 6.5 points in the seven-round Swiss event, sanctioned by NCFP and organized by MCC.  Bancod brought home the champion trophy plus the gold medal and the P5,000 top prize.

At  solo second was National Master (NM) Emmanuel Emperado who tallied 6.0 points and received P3,000 plus silver medal.
