Jinkee tired of asking Pacquiao to retire
LAS VEGAS – Jinkee Pacquiao no longer has a say when it comes to her husband’s tenure as a professional boxer.
Jinkee sat with family members in front of the stage as Manny Pacquiao made weight for Saturday’s title fight against Adrien Broner at the MGM Grand.
She gladly fielded questions about Pacquiao.
Asked how she felt about Pacquiao not heeding her advice to quit boxing as early as six years ago, Jinkee felt helpess.
“The more I tell him, the more it won’t happen,” she said.
“So ngayon, tahimik na lang muna ako (Now, I just keep quiet),” added Jinkee, who had a red leather jacket on.
Pacquiao weighed in at 146 pounds, one pound under the limit.
But Jinkee said the 40-year-old champion needed an extra push to make weight after waking up a pound over the limit.
“He got up early and then he skipped ropes because he was over by one pound (at 148),” said Jinkee.
“But it’s okay now,” she added.
