LAS VEGAS – Manny Pacquiao can eat five times a day and easily make weight at 147 pounds.
Friday won’t be any different when the official weigh-in takes place at 3 p.m. at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
“No problem,” Pacquiao said.
Last week in Los Angeles, the 40-year-old said he was under 150 pounds. If he wants to, he can lose two pounds in minutes.
Pacquiao worked out Thursday afternoon at the UNLV track oval when his handlers had wished for him to stay in his 500 sqm suite at the MGM.
He had to eat to make weight.
“Baka 145 pounds,” said his trainer Buboy Fernandez.
Adrien Broner, his challenger from Cincinnati, may have some problems as his monicker, “The Problem,” suggests.
A former world champion, Broner has failed to make weight thrice while campaigning in the lower weight classes.
When the fight was announced last October, the 29-year-old Broner was heavy on the belly.
Last week, he posted a picture of his ripped body on Instagram. Others thought it was photoshopped.
Broner assured that there’s no problem with his weight.
“I’m gonna beat him (Pacquiao) up and ask him for a drink later. I will turn Vegas into a block party on Saturday,” he said.
A native of Miami whispered to Filipino reporters here that Broner was seen “hanging out” in Miami last week.
Now, that’s a problem.
