Pacquiao goes all-black

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao will sport a new look when he climbs the ring against Adrien Broner on January 19 in Las Vegas (January 20 Manila time).
Pacquiao will go all-black.
“Black shoes, black trunks, black robe,” a member of Pacquiao’s inner circle, David Sisson, said Monday from Los Angeles.
It will be the first time Pacquiao will carry an all-black attire inside the ring.
It’s like Mike Tyson.
“He likes it a lot,” Sisson told The STAR.
Pacquiao has found a new outfitter in Anta, a Chinese brand, after his long partnership with a famous American brand came to an end in 2016.
As he trained in Manila for the Broner fight, The STAR had noticed a change in the color of his fighting shoes.
“They (sponsor) want him to wear black,” said Sisson.
Will Pacquiao’s trunks carry the bright logos of the same old sponsors?
There will be some changes, too.
At the peak of his career, Pacquiao’s trunks were like a walking billboard.
For the Floyd Mayweather fight in 2015, his trunks attracted sponsorship deals worth P100 million.
Companies paid as much as P13 million for a six-inch-by-four-inch spot in Pacquiao’s trunks.
“We have new sponsors as well,” said Sisson.
