MANILA, Philippines — The Cherrylume Chairman’s Cup braces for its grand 16th staging starting tomorrow with a record 418-player field clashing for top honors in various divisions at the Forest Hills Golf Club’s Nicklaus and Palmer courses in Antipolo.
Up from last year’s 300-plus cast, the big increase in participation has forced the organizing committee, headed by club chairman Ferdie Santos, to hold the annual event for two days – from Nov. 10 to 11.
“It’s a big number but by making it longer and utilizing both layouts, our players will be assured of a smooth staging and less traffic on the courses. We are very happy to host this huge field,” Santos said.
Forest Hills general manager Raymond Bunquin said prizes will be up for grabs on all par-3s. They include a Mitsubishi Xpander and Tata Manza, Mazda 3 (ANC Group), Texas Eagle cart (Turf Co.), Cobra golf set F7 (J-Ten Sports), 100k cash (Taishan Insurance), Meister watch (YSA Skin Care) and GPS Tracker (Silicon Computer).
