Philippine Football Federation clears accounts with PSC

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Football Federation settled its unliquidated accounts amounting to P4.8 million with the Philippine Sports Commission on Sept.  14.

“The federation has remitted a check to cover all unliquidated financial assistance from the PSC amounting to P4,882,602.71,”   said PFF general secretary Edwin Gastanes.

“That amount is from past administrations of PFF from 1996 to 2010,” added Gastanes.

On Sept. 27, 2017, the PSC released a policy via Board Resolution No. 1656-2017 stating that “NSAs with outstanding obligations and/or unliquidated accounts shall receive no funding from the Commission, effective Nov.  1, 2017.”

On April 25, the agency, through Board Resolution No. 652-2018 announced that “NSAs with requests for financial assistance and with unliquidated accounts in amount of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (P100,000) and below may be considered for approval by the Board.”

PFF joins the PSC-funded national associations for athletics, sailing and cycling who  have already settled  their advances.
