MANILA, Philippines — Leading MVP candidates Robert Bolick of San Beda and Bong Quinto of Letran banner the Saints team slugging it out with a depleted Heroes side in today’s NCAA Season 94 All-Star Game at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.
Bolick, who unloaded a 50-point performance against the Arellano U Chiefs last week, and Quinto, who dished out back-to-back triple-double games against Mapua and Emilio Aguinaldo College, will be joined by San Sebastian’s Michael Calisaan and Allyn Bulanadi, Letran’s JP Calvo, San Beda’s Javee Mocon and CSB’s Edward Dixon.
Completing the Saints team, handled by San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez, are CSB’s JJ Domingo and Luigi Velasco, Letran’s Christian Fajarito, San Beda’s Ranbill Tongco, San Sebastian’s Alvin Capobres, and Perpetual Help’s Jielo Razon, AJ Coronel and Kim Aurin.
Aurin and Razon replaced Prince Eze and Edgar Charcos in the last minute.
Reigning MVP CJ Perez, meanwhile, was out of the Heroes roster, together with Cameroonian Mike Nzeusseu, leaving the cudgels to twins Jaycee and Jayvee Marcelino of Lyceum of the Phl U.
Also part of the Topex Robinson-mentored Heroes are Arellano U’s Levi dela Cruz, Ian Alban and Michael Canete, Emilio Aguinaldo’s Jerome Garcia, Enrico Diego and Jesse Bautista, Jr., Mapua’s Warren Bonifacio, Lawrence Victoria and Cedric Pelayo, LPU’s Kim Cinco, and Jose Rizal’s Jed Mendoza, Karl Bordon and Richard David.
Former league stars Jio Jalalon of AU and Rey Nambatac of Letran and ex-MVP John Wilson of JRU will spice up the one-day festivity, which aims to generate funds for the NCAA athletes loaned to the national teams as well as the league’s charitable missions. The troika will compete in the shooting stars.
Also on tap are the slam dunk competition, a three-point shootout and skills challenge.
