MANILA, Philippines — Josh Jorge fired a net 66 while Mariel Tee carded a 69 as they ruled their respective sides in the juniors side of the sixth Oakley Golf Cup at the Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club in Lubao, Pampanga recently.
A big number of participants took part in the 18-hole, System 36 tournament hosted by top international sports accessories brand Oakley and held for the benefit of The Junior Golfers League, the development league of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.
In other results, Raymund Lacdao scored a 67 to capture the men’s Division A crown with Mike Besa and Allan Umali finishing second and third with identical 69s; James Roy Linao shot a 72 and nipped Marlon Dizon in the countback for the Class B diadem with Lorenzo dela Paz placing third with a 73; and Eric dela Rosa turned in a 75 to beat Matthew Mendoza and Mark Fowler, who both shot 76s, for the Class C title.
Vangie Omlang, meanwhile, took the ladies plum with a 72 with Grace Montilla and Cora Aguinaldo finishing second and third with 73s.
Oakley donated P100,000 to TJGL as part of its commitment to support the country’s young golfers.
