MANILA, Philippines — Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club turned in a superb outing in all fronts and dominated the third leg of the 2018 WGAP Circuit, posting a victory and two runner-up finishes to close in on leader Villamor at the Valley Golf Club’s South course in Antipolo recently.

The Agui ladies pulled through in a tight Class A battle, pooling a 128 and edging Villamor (126) by two points with Forest Hills placing third at 124 followed by Alabang (120) and Tagaytay Highlands (119).

Ruby Hamis fired 36 points under the Stableford scoring system while Matet Salivio, Mabel Salivio and Vangie Omlang backed her up with 32, 31 and 29 points, respectively, to power CAGC to victory in the premier division of the three-division circuit organized and conducted by the Women’s Golf Association of the Philippines.

With runner-up efforts in Classes B and C, CAGC racked up seven points and pulled to within one off Villamor, 12-13, in the overall race as the two teams started to drive a wedge between the rest of the contenders in the 12-team field featuring the leading golfing ladies from the country’s top courses.

Forest Hills, behind Elizabeth Valen’s 40 points, Ma. Consuelo Conti’s 35 points and Jong Yeon Kim and Anli Wu’s identical 33 points, took the Class B diadem with 141 but Aguinaldo, led by Grace Montilla’s 41 points, placed second with a 133 and the host squad clinched a podium finish at third with a 129 followed by Sta. Elena (121), Alabang (119) which nipped Villamor for fifth in the countback, Wack Wack (117) and Orchard (100).
