PNP cites Firearms Caravan at gun show

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) has urged owners of licensed firearms to avail themselves of the online application for the renewal of their License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and Firearm Registration.

Supt. Julius Silagan, PNP-FEO Firearms License Division chief, said the new online system is aimed at decongesting the FEO main office at Camp Crame, QC of applicants and at the same time lessen the burden of firearm owners from far-flung areas.

With the online system, Silagan said the FEO already has on its database the pertinent requirements earlier submitted by the licensee when he or she applied for the documents for the first time.

Silangan invited first time applicants of LTOPF, Firearm Registration and Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR) to visit the PNP-FEO Firearms Caravan at the 26th Defense and Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) Part 1 slated July 12-17 at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong.

On-site applicants for PTCFOR, LTOPF, Provisional LTOPF and Firearms Registrants may avail themsleves of the neuro-psychiatric test and interview, PNP Directorate for Intelligence (DI) clearance, drug test clearance, PNP Finance Service, NBI clearance, notary public and residence certificate, at the PNP-AFAD Firearms Caravan.

Applicants may also visit www.afad.ph for the complete list of requirements.

World shooting champ and AFAD president Jethro Dionisio said the AFAD continuously supports the Firearms Caravan, through the DSAS events, as part of their organization’s commitment to promote responsible firearm ownership in the country.
