WATCH: Ravena bares plans after FIBA ban
MANILA, Philippines — Rookie star Kiefer Ravena has been banned by FIBA from international play for 18 months for unknowingly ingesting a prohibited substance. But the scope of that penalty has not been clearly defined.
Speaking to reporters on Monday shortly after revealing FIBA’s decision over his infraction, Ravena himself revealed his plans moving forward and whether or not he is still going to see action with the NLEX Road Warriors in the Philippine Basketball Association.
Ravena will be missing the third window of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers where the Nationals are set to play the Taiwanese on their home turf on June 29 and when the Philippines hosts the Australians at the Philippine Arena on July 2.
The 24-year-old cager, who was drafted second overall by the NLEX Road Warriors in the last PBA draft, is also set to indefinitely miss games in the pay-for-play league. His team is set to play the retooled Blackwater Elite on Wednesday afternoon in the hope of improving a lackluster 1-4 win-loss record in the midseason conference.
