Ravena skips Iloilo PBA All-Star game
ILOILO CITY – Kiefer Ravena had to skip the Iloilo finale of the 2018 PBA All-Star series last night after being called by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas to immediately fly back to Manila.
The PBA and the SBP were both mum on the reason of Ravena’s last-minute pullout from the game, just saying a press conference will be held on Monday.
He played a round of golf at Sta. Barbara in the morning and joined the PBA activities at midday before packing his bags and hastily leaving for Manila. Even his roommate Emman Monfort was not aware of Ravena’s quick departure.
“We will have a press conference (on Monday). We will advise the time,” said SBP president Al Panlilio in his answer to a query by The STAR.
“Am on the road from Baguio,” said SBP executive director Sonny Barrios in a separate text message.
The game announcer hollered the name of Ravena during the callout ceremony, obviously not informed of the pullout.
A true-blue Ilonggo from Manduriao, Ravena was missed by his kababayans.
