MANILA, Philippines — Host Tanauan overwhelmed Muntinlupa, 16-4, to win the centerpiece Little League Baseball division in the Little League Luzon Regionals over the weekend and lead the march of qualifiers to the Philippine Series.

Pouncing on their home field advantage, the Tanauenos imposed their mastery over their opponents and went through the six-day competition undefeated en route to their taking their spot in the national finals.

Canlubang took the bronze in the majors’ category with a 9-2 disposal of Antipolo.

Tanauan also struck gold in minor league baseball, senior league baseball, and senior league softball plays.

The home team crushed Muntinlupa, 18-2, to rule the new competition for the 8-10 age group, where Canlubang also made a podium finish via a 7-6 edging of ILLAM in the battle for third.

Tanauan’s seniors swept the baseball and softball titles at the expense of Muntinlupa (12-4), and Bulacan (4-1), respectively, but Muntinlupa thwarted the Tanauenos’ bid to annex the junior league baseball diadem, hacking out a 6-3 victory in the finals.

Agoncillo captured the majors plum in softball, beating Cavite, 7-6, while Pasig’s softbelles reigned in seniors play, defeating Bulacan, 9-8.

The Top 2 teams in all divisions except minor league baseball advanced to the national finals, where berths to the Asia Pacific Series will be at stake.
