MANILA, Philippines — UP and UST clash today for UAAP Season 80 men’s football crown with the Fighting Maroons hoping to duplicate their 1-0 victory over the Tigers in the 2011-12 season in a campaign where they conceded just one goal all throughout.
Kick-off is at 3 p.m. at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
“It has been a while. I’m very excited. UST played so well in their game against Ateneo. I think it’s going to be an exciting match,” said UP coach Anto Gonzales after they eliminated the La Salle side in the Final Four.
But the Tigers are determined to regain their lost glory and give their seven graduating players led by Steven Anotado and Gino Clariño a grand send-off.
“I know UP is a strong team,” said coach Marjo Allado, out to deliver a record 36th championship to the school.
