Pradera Verde, Wack Wack top junior golf meet

MANILA, Philippines — Pradera bagged two division titles but Wack Wack foiled its sweep bid in the other class in the PAL-JGFP Interclub Championship at the Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club in Barangay Prado Siongco, Lubao in Pampanga last weekend.

Pradera 1, behind the crack squad of Jolo Magcalayo, Harmie Constantino, Annika Cayabyab and Sean Jean Ramos, pooled 467 points to dominate Division I (13-14 and 15-18). Team ICTSI assembled a 438 and nipped Pradera 2 by one for runner-up honors.

Pradera 1, behind Zachary Castro, Monique Arroyo, Rianne Malixi and Miko Granada, also blasted the field in Division 2 (9-10 and 11-12) with 450, beating Pradera 2 (392) and Wack Wack (382) in the three-day tournament organized by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.

Wack Wack and Southwoods were tied after two rounds at 252 points but the team of Celine Abalos, Sean Young, Armand Copok and Davao-based Edison Tabalin scored 130 points in the final day against the 129 points of Southwoods, which finished with 381 points.

In Division 3, seven-year-old sensation Nicole Gan, Kristoffer Nadales, Geoff Tan and Cassy Arbatin of Wack Wack combined for 328 points to rule the 7-8 years old category over Pradera 1 (320) and Pradera 2 (183).

Magcalayo emerged as the Class A champion in the boys side with 158 points, while Southwoods’ Aidric Chan placed second (157) followed by Carlo Villaroman of Pradera 4 third (153), while Constantino took the girls’ Class A crown with 151 points, followed by Pradera 2’s Nicole Abelar (140) and Wack Wack Sam Bruce (140).

Other winners were Class B boys Tae Soon Kim of Orchard (155), Edward Lee of Marianas Guam (155) and Sean Jean Ramos of Pradera (154); Class C boys Zachary Castro of Pradera 1 (157), Jeff Jung of Southwoods (152) and Dylan Castillo of Pradera 1 (136); Class D boys Miko Granada (157), Tae Won Kim of Orchard (125) and Vitto Miravite of Valley 1 (115); and Class E-F boys Mark Nadales of Wack Wack (140), Scott Ng of Southwoods (124) and Jacob Taruc of Pradera 1 (113).
