Jimmy Zapanta tops Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association derby
MANILA, Philippines — Jimmy Zapanta of Laguna scored seven points to emerge solo champion in the Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association seven-bullstag derby at Pasay City Cockpit recently.
Zapanta’s entry Jet Boggs bested the aces from 89 other participants in the second leg of the LGBA presented by Sagupaan Superfeeds and Complexor 3000.
Nelson Uy/Dong Chung, Jet Fernando,Cris Sioson and BP Super Kings shared runner-up honors with six points apiece.
Meanwhile, the circuit resumes on Friday with the staging of the final leg (North vs South five-bullstag derby) featuring 175 fights.
Action starts at 10 a.m. Also to be disputed are the team and individual championship and the LGBA Cocker of the Year, according to LGBA president Nick Crisostomo.
