MANILA, Philippines — Filipino-Nigerian basketball prospect AJ Edu is ecstatic to be chosen as one of the top young players around the world to take part in the prestigious Basketball Without Borders Global Camp.
The NBA on Monday released the names of the 65 boys from 63 countries who were chosen to take part in the camp, and Edu is grateful to be considered.
"I'm honored, thankful and blessed to have this opportunity, and I really look forward to measuring myself against some of the top prospects in the world," he told Philstar.com.
The BWB Camp will be on February 16 in Los Angeles and Edu, a Lakers fan, said he will bask in the experience and treasure the lessons he will get.
"It's gonna be surreal to play and train at the Lakers training facility and watch games at the Staples Centre," the Batang-Gilas prospective said.
"The stuff I'll learn from the NBA players and coaches has to be something I'll always remember and build on."
The Fil-Nigerian also did not forget to thank his fans and supporters who have been supporting me.
"Shoutout to all the fans who have been showing me love after the roster was revealed, I really appreciate it," he said.
