Lady Altas duel winless Generals

MANILA, Philippines — Perpetual Help tries to break off a tie for third with St. Benilde as it tangles with winless Emilio Aguinaldo College while Lyceum and Letran clash in a duel of struggling teams in the NCAA women’s volleyball at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan today.

The Lady Altas blew a two-set lead but recovered in time to frustrate the depleted San Sebastian Lady Stags, 25-22, 25-23, 7-25, 18-25, 15-11, the last time out to join the Lady Blazers at 2-1.

That makes the Las Piñas-based squad the heavy favorite to prevail in their 11 a.m. encounter with the Lady Generals, who dropped their first three games.

But Perpetual coach Macky Carino cautions his wards not to take EAC lightly, the way they did against the undermanned Lady Stags.
