MANILA, Philippines — PLDT will make its return to the Premier Volleyball League after a two-year absence.

Roger Gorayeb said he had already told Bali Pure team manager Paulo Turno of his plan of returning to his mother club team PLDT as its coach in time for the PVL’s season-ushering Reinforced Conference tentatively set on April 1.

“I’ve just talked to him (Turno) and I explained that I have no choice but to leave since PLDT is my mother team,” said Gorayeb.

Gorayeb said PLDT will parade a line up headed by former league MVP Grethcel Soltones, Lizlee Ann Pantone and Alyssa Eroa from Bali Pure and San Sebastian standouts Joyce Sta. Rita and Katherine Villegas.

Gorayeb also said they also have UAAP stars in the roster and he can only divulge the names only after the UAAP volley season.

PLDT is a former league powerhouse having won two championships in the Shakey’s V-League Open and Reinforced Conferences two years ago.

In fact, their star players back then include Alyssa Valdez, who is now suiting up for the Creamline Cool Smashers.

PLDT, however, decided to take a leave of absence in the next two seasons when during that time, Gorayeb went on to coach Bali Pure and steer it to a runner up to a pair of third place finish in 2016, a runner up finish and, finally, a championship last year.
