MANILA, Philippines — La Salle Greenhills demolished Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (Visayas), 66-51, to rule the SBP-Passerelle national finals for the third straight year.

Representing the National Capital Region, the Greenies outclassed their Visayan counterparts to dominate the title match in the premier side of the twin tournaments at Cebu Coliseum.

Ferndale International School of Zamboanga, representing Mindanao, also routed Berkeley School of Baguio (Luzon), 57-36, to finish third.

In the Passerelle division, San Beda College-Rizal (NCR) toppled Holy Child of Davao (Mindanao), 68-51 to emerge the new champion in their side of the tournament.

International School for Better Beginnings (Luzon), meanwhile, held off Hua Siong College of Iloilo (Visayas), 58-52, to claim third place.

More than a thousand players took part in this year’s SBP-Passerelle twin tournaments.

SBP-Passerelle, which gives importance to fair play and discipline among participating students, as well as parents, coaches and school officials, later awarded the coveted sportsmanship award to Ferndale International School in the SBP division and San Beda College-Rizal in the Passerelle category.

“We are very lucky to have witnessed another year of passionate competition among these talented young individuals,” said Nicanor Jorge, former national coach and founder of BEST (Basketball Efficiency & Scientific Training) Center which organized the annual event.
