Pacquiao to fight McGregor?
MANILA, Philippines — Manny Pacquiao calling out Connor McGregor on Instagram during Thanksgiving has sparked talks that the Filipino senator is interested in fighting the UFC superstar.
While there’s nothing concrete in Pacquiao’s latest post on social media, greeting McGregor and urging him to stay fit, it’s been translated into something else.
“Happy Thanksgiving,” Pacquiao said in a message directed at McGregor and viewed by his more than four million followers yesterday.
“Stay fit my friend,” added Pacquiao in his message that was accompanied with the hashtags #realboxingmatch and #2018.
Two key members of Team Pacquiao yesterday did not confirm news that Pacquiao is interested in fighting McGregor.
If Pacquiao is really interested in fighting McGregor, who fought Floyd Mayweather and lost inside 10 rounds last August, then he’s not the only one.
Jeff Horn, the Australian who defeated Pacquiao last July in Brisbane, has also mentioned McGregor as a future opponent.
Then Oscar dela Hoya had gone to social media as well, trying to lure or tease McGregor into a fight.
Dela Hoya, who lost to Pacquiao almost a decade ago, said he’d been “secretly training” and added that he can still pull the trigger.
