MANILA, Philippines — The AMA OnLine PBA D-League team is conducting tryouts for the upcoming D-League Aspirants Cup.
AMA sports director and head coach Mark Herrera said new members of the AMA Titans will be selected from school-based players from the UAAP, NCAA, NAASCU and NCRAA.
“This is in line with our sports program which aims to give players from the grassroots to college the chance to show their talents at the highest level – in the PBA D-League. We will be using school-based players. We have not acquired imports since we joined the D-League four years ago to give Filipino students the chance to join the pro ranks through the D-League.”
Aspirants for the PBA draft are required to play for at least two years in the PBA D-League. Exempted from the rule are members of the national team to international competitions.
“Everybody is welcome to the tryout,” said Herrera.
Tryouts will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting at 10 a.m., at the AMA wooden court in Proj. 8, Quezon City.
The team is owned by Ambassador Amable R. Aguiluz and Dr. Amable C. Aguiluz IX. Team manager is AMA OnLine Senior VP Arnel Hibo.
